Myself and four other unit owners live in a beautiful home built in 1863 in Newport, Rhode Island.  The house was designed by the famous Newport architect Champlin Mason for the the then mayor of Detroit. It is the of the French Second Empire style of the time.  The roof is mansard style with many gables, hips and valleys.  Most importantly, the roof is completely slate.  The roof was beginning to show its age and demonstrated exceptional knowledge and experience with slate roofs.  The task required the removal and replacement of many rows of slate in order to remove and replace all the copper flashing and ridges.  The work was performed in a very timely and professional manner.  In addition, working with Marek and Dominik of Chilomer Custom Builders inc. was enjoyable due to their responsiveness, trustworthiness, and easy going manner.
